About Dr. Harris Dr. Barb Harris is originally from north Wilmington , where she swam competitively and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1984. She continued her academic and athletic careers at Northwestern University and received her bachelor's degree in 1988. She then worked for several years as a systems consultant before deciding to return to veterinary school at the University of Wisconsin . She received her degree in 1999, and went on to do an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Michigan State University . Most recently, she has been practicing at a clinic in Pennsylvania .Dr. Harris’ marriage to another swimmer and native Delawarean has brought her back to the area. She now lives in north Wilmington with her husband Bruce, her stepson Andrew, three cats, and a dog. Dr. Harris continues to swim both for fitness and occasionally in competition. She also enjoys reading and traveling. She is happy to be back in the area close to family and old friends and is looking forward to spending more time with them.
