Dear Dr Berg,
I just wanted to thank you for your column (quite a while ago) on using bran to help treat colitis in dogs. It
has worked wonders for our dog. She is a little mixed breed dog from the SPCA, an from the time we adopted her,
she had bouts of bloody diarrhea and vomiting. We had tried adjusting her food intake to 4 small meals a day, switched
the food, gave her no treats or "people food", and had her on Tylan quite frequently. This went on for
4 years. Then I read your article on bran, tried it and since then I have not had to use Tylan again! She had had
no more colitis episodes !!! Of course, we still watch what she eats, but that little bit of bran we give her daily
had been a incredible help.
